This appointment is important in establishing why in the current climate some neighbourhoods at the most local level are stable, and why others are vulnerable.
Inner City is drawing on its it extensive experience in socio-economic assessment, in order to evaluate the future trajectory of the neighbourhoods, and determine what factors are driving change. In addition case studies are being used to provide instances of good practice elsewhere.
The results are particularly important at a time when funding is constrained, and therefore a range of radical options will be considered which make the best use of existing resources. The conclusions, expected before the end of 2011, will culminate in an action plan, which will shape future policy in relation to the stewardship of the estates.
