LATEST NEWSInner City Solutions are delighted to confirm that work to develop Liverpool's first socially owned urban park has commenced on site. The requirement for new park facilities in the Kensington area of Liverpool has been well established, with the 4.5 hectare Kensington Reservoir site (located on Jubilee Drive) having been identified as an ideal setting for new recreational space.
Working with a range of local stakeholder partners, Inner City Solutions successfully identified a range of new investment proposals for the site, including the creation of a new sensory garden, cycle facilities and entrance points. Following this, Inner City Solutions have subsequently worked with funding partners to successfully secure the £800,000 required to realise delivery of the project.
The scheme will complement the extensive levels of investment that have been concentrated into Kensington in recent years, and will help to provide local residents with access to a range of new recreational facilities.
The scheme is anticipated to complete in May 2010, and will be formally unveiled as 'Jubilee Park' later in the year.
